Alibaba Group’s Pitch Fest offers small businesses the opportunity to expand their market into China

Alibaba is offering UK small businesses the opportunity to help expand their market into China.

Alibaba Group’s Tmall Global, the largest cross-border e-commerce platform in China, today announced the launch of the UK and Irish editions of the Go Global 11/11 Pitch Fest. The event gives small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to quickly get to the world’s largest shopping event, Alibaba’s 11/11 Global Shopping Festival.

Eligible brands can register to present their products to an Alibaba panel of experts for valuable advice on expanding their business in China. Selected companies also receive marketing advice and are pitched to famous Chinese influencers.

Following the success of Pitch Fest 2020, it will open to UK and Irish businesses for the first time. More than 31,000 foreign brands took part in the 2020 event, 2,600 of them for the first time on November 11th. During the 11-day period, US $ 494 million worth of goods were sold by UK companies, showing strong demand for UK products from Chinese consumers.

All brands that apply receive a subsequent individual consultation with a Tmall Global Expert and a tailor-made report on the market opportunities with valuable advice and tips to expand their brand worldwide and in China. The feedback and report will be tailored for each company to provide guidance for future expansion into China.

Brands that have recently joined Tmall Global include Holland & Barrett, Sweaty Betty, Rude Health, Jo Loves, Creed, Molton Brown and Child’s Farm, among others.
