The Departments of Health, Human Services and Defense hold a joint briefing on the Trump administration’s Covid-19 vaccination program, Operation Warp Speed, on Wednesday as states prepare for the doses to be distributed.
The briefing comes one day after a panel of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention votes 13-1 to give the first coronavirus vaccine doses to health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities as soon as they are cleared for public use. The Food and Drug Administration has scheduled a meeting for December 10th to discuss Pfizer’s application for emergency approval for its vaccine with BioNTech.
As of Wednesday before, the UK became the first country to approve the Pfizer emergency vaccine. This is another step in the global fight against the pandemic.
