This is Journal Club 10/30/20! I hold one every week JOURNAL CLUB. After filtering through the articles on the web, I present some that have influenced my life this week. Be safe and stay healthy!
- Budgeting is a surprisingly controversial topic in the personal finance community. Many people hate the idea of filling out lengthy tables, but most agree that some form of tracking is beneficial. - What does financial freedom mean to you? This is the question the Cash Cow couple asked in this fantastic post. The authors state that it doesn’t matter where you are on your path to financial independence. It’s always good to evaluate your goals and progress and always know why. Depending on how far along you are, this can be a good motivator or a good reminder.
- As you probably know, I am a huge fan of buying rentals. However, there are a few things to consider, especially with regards to the buying process. This comprehensive post from Fortune Builders covers the closing process in depth. If you need to brush up on how closing works, this article is an excellent refresher.
- One of the greatest things we can do for our families is teach them how to be successful on their own. This article from Debt-Free Doctor shows the importance of teaching your children how to manage finances and providing the tools they need to be successful. He uses his own experiences as examples and it is an excellent read.
